More About This Yoga Teacher Training
This training acknowledges all the primary required study for a 200hr Yoga Alliance certification while adding a nurturing amount of reflection, connection and support so that the student absorbs and imbibes the rituals of nature and season. It has been the fashion of many 200 hr RYT trainings to shorten the timeline - presently there are many shortened training offerings from 4 months, 30 days, 2 weeks while many students can absorb book knowledge in shortened period of time- true knowing is an experiential journey and one that encourages the divine creative power inside all of us. In this training a student will learn all the tenants of yoga found in a variety of lineages as well as the tools of Ayurveda, Pranayama, Mudras, mantras, anatomy, meditation, asana and sacred text of Patanjali’s sutras. We will also begin to understand that we are not divided by nature; we are nature and from the context of Ayurvedic we are composed of the same basic five elements—ether, air, fire, water, and earth—as every material object around us. Students will be given the tools and information, through the lens of teaching a class- what asana (yoga shapes) are correct for our body at what time of year, what foods are essential to nourish our body each season, self care techniques to begin to understand our constitution and looking at unhealthy patterns we see both in ourselves and movements of our students. The ultimate goal is to make small changes that encourage living a life more fully engaged with family, diet, work, as well as beginning to see possibilities and opportunities.

Through fortuitous events Jennifer stepped into her first yoga class on the lower east side of NYC at Bhava Community Center more than 10 yrs ago, and fell in love with the sweaty and energetic vibe. Not her mother’s yoga or her classical ballet background, she realized it was something so much more… Classes are an offering of healing, laughter, playfulness, fun and adventure colliding with mindful alignment, dynamic sequencing, breath-work and yogic philosophy.

After her first ashtanga practice Carrie knew this was going to be a life changing moment. The clarity, peace and balance she found on the mat were unlike anything she had ever experienced. Over the next ten years Carrie's quest to recreate that feeling of "complete centeredness" everyday, all day, lead her to study with renowned yoga instructors across the nation and begin a dedicated practice of personal growth and universal awareness.
Today Carrie is "living" her yoga and enjoying her life guiding hundreds of yogis at the Jersey Shore.
